Safety Representative
MMI is looking to hire an experienced Safety Representative who has at least 2-4 years of related experience working in construction. A Safety Representative must display a thorough understanding of all federal, state, local, company, and client regulations. Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures. Good interpersonal and communication skills required. Computer literacy must be sufficient to communicate effectively through emails and prepare written reports and summarize observations, prepare incident reports and statements, use basic spreadsheets, and use client-provided programs. Must be able to pass a drug test and have a good driving record.
MMI is an industrial and steel fabricating company based in Mesa, Arizona. MMI has been in business since 1974 and continues to grow each year.
This position will be working at our Amkor project, located in Peoria, AZ.

Responsibilities for Safety Representative:
- Allocate approximately 90% of his/her time performing observations/safety audits and permit writing in the field.
- Perform periodic audits of Critical Behaviors (Behavior Based Observations), Safe Work Permits, Lock Out Tag Out, Job Hazard Analysis forms, and other tasks required by the scope of the assignment.
- Perform periodic documented audits of work activities to verify work is being performed safely and within the scope.
- Coordinate with client EH&S representatives to complete any required tasks promptly
- Immediately communicate any significant EH&S issues to the responsible Client, Project Management, and MMI Industrial & Steel Safety Director.
- Provide support to all project management for all safety-related issues.
- Coach Operation/Contractor personnel on hazard awareness/recognition
- Attend/conduct regularly scheduled EH&S Team meetings and safety meetings, e.g. net meetings, tailgate meetings, and new hire orientations.
- Review daily inspection logs on equipment and machinery for completion.
- Assist with incident/injury reports and investigations
- Manage site Safety Data Sheets and Hazard Communications
- Manage PPE for the project.
Safety Representative must be physically able to:
- Work on his/her feet for long periods of time
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions; will be exposed to heat, cold, dust, fumes, or gases
- Able to work at various heights
- Able to push/pull up to 30 lbs.
- Able to lift 30 lbs.
