CNC 5 Axis Machinist III for Large Parts

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machining centers, including large bridge mills and horizontal machining centers
• Machine large, complex components (up to 100"+) to tight tolerances
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and CAD/CAM programs
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
• Adjust offsets, tooling, and programs to maintain part quality
• Collaborate with programmers and engineers to optimize machining processes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Document production activity and quality checks per company standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience (5-axis required)
• Experience with large-format machines (bridge mills, gantry mills, or large HMCs)
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
• Familiarity with aerospace/defense quality standards (AS9100 experience a plus)
• Ability to work with tight tolerances and complex geometries
• Experience machining exotic alloys (Inconel, titanium, stainless) preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR compliant)

Preferred Experience

• Experience with machines such as OKK, Doosan, Awea, or similar
• Exposure to 5-axis simultaneous machining
• Knowledge of tooling strategies for large part machining
• Experience in prototype and low-volume production environments

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Regular standing, bending, and manual assembly work.
• Work performed in a clean, organized, controlled manufacturing setting
• Exposure to machine shop environment (coolant, metal chips, noise)
