Job Description

The Biting Edge, PC Family Dentistry is excited to announce a job opening for a dedicated and professional Registered Dental Hygienist. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving dental practice known for its commitment to patient care and a friendly working environment. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled individual who can contribute to our dynamic team. This is a 3-4 day per week position, located at our well-equipped facility, and requires in-person attendance as it is not a remote job. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients and supporting our mission to offer the best in oral health services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct oral examinations and assess oral health conditions
  • Perform scaling, root planing, and polishing
  • Apply preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
  • Take dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
  • Evaluate patients’ oral health and report findings to dentists
  • Document treatment plans and care performed on patients
  • Maintain patient recall system, including scheduling and follow-up for future appointments
  • Sterilize dental instruments properly
  • Ensure strict compliance with infection control and safety guidelines

Requirements

  • Valid dental hygienist license in Arizona
  • Laser certification
  • Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) certification
  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven experience as a dental hygienist
  • Detail-oriented and a high level of dexterity
  • Ability to work as part of a comprehensive dental team
  • High proficiency in dental software and computerized office applications
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care
  • Capability to converse with patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Ability to work 3-4 days per week in a single general dentist practice
  • Demonstrate reliability and professionalism
