As an In-Home Care Specialist, you will have the privilege of assisting our clients with their daily activities, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life. This role requires a blend of skills and personal attributes that contribute to the safe and caring environment we promise our clients. This position provides a unique opportunity to work closely with seniors, understanding their needs, and crafting care strategies that best meet these needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily visits to clients' homes and perform scheduled care routines.
  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Prepare meals according to clients’ dietary needs and preferences, ensuring nutritious standards are met.
  • Provide companionship to clients, engaging in conversations, reading, and leisure activities.
  • Monitor and report changes in the client’s health, behavior, and needs. Promptly communicate any concerns to the supervising care coordinator.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and maintain a record of timings and dosages.
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining an organized living space.
  • Facilitate physical mobility by aiding with walking, transferring, and the use of mobility devices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards, company policies, and local, state, and federal regulations applicable to home care.
  • Encourage self-care and independence for clients as much as practicable.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of client care, condition, progress, and concerns.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a caregiver or relevant role in health care.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
  • Physical endurance to perform job duties; ability to lift at least 20 pounds.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to client confidentiality.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust with colleagues and clients alike.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible schedule, capable of working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Patience, empathy, and a consistently positive disposition.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes within designated areas.
  • Must pass background check, drug screening, and provide professional references.
