This position focuses on operating and maintaining sandblasting equipment to remove color from welding, paint, dirt, grease, and other built-up materials from surfaces. You'll be responsible for equipment preparation, material handling, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining sandblasting equipment
- Managing abrasive materials (replacing and loading sand)
- Operating blasting equipment for welding color removal
- Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces
- Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment
- Load and unload the blast cabinet
- Assist with painting or coating as needed
- Apply and remove non-skid materials as needed
- Heavy equipment handling and setup
- Workspace cleaning with new equipment
- Additional duties as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Previous sandblasting experience or training
- Mechanical aptitude is highly valued
- Experience with power tools, air tools, and hand tools
- Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, and set up heavy equipment
- Flexible schedule
- Familiarity with power tools
