A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICIAN

As a Residential Electrician, you take pride in providing safe, reliable electrical solutions for homeowners throughout Chester County, Delaware County, Berks County and the surrounding areas. You use your knowledge and experience to troubleshoot problems, complete installations, and ensure residential electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities include:

Installing, maintaining, and repairing residential electrical wiring and systems.
Installing and replacing electrical outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, and other electrical devices.
Troubleshooting electrical issues and diagnosing faulty wiring, circuits, and components.
Installing, servicing, and upgrading electrical panels, breakers, and circuits within the scope of your qualifications.
Installing dedicated circuits and wiring for residential appliances and equipment.
Reading and interpreting electrical plans, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions.
Ensuring electrical work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and local requirements.
Identifying potential electrical hazards and recommending appropriate solutions.
Communicating professionally with homeowners, explaining findings, and discussing recommended repairs or upgrades.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Completing work orders and documenting work performed.
Working collaboratively with team members while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of residential electrical or related skilled-trades experience preferred.

Knowledge of residential wiring, circuits, electrical panels, breakers, outlets, switches, and lighting.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems and identify appropriate repairs.
Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and safe work practices.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and installation instructions.
Completion of an electrical trade school program or relevant technical training preferred.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record, if driving company vehicles is required.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and pride in quality workmanship.
Professional communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must meet any applicable municipal licensing, registration, or certification requirements for the work performed.

Licensing: Pennsylvania does not require a general statewide electrician's license. However, local licensing or certification requirements may apply in the municipalities where work is performed.
