Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled HVAC Service Manager to lead our service team of technicians. Our growing business needs someone with a strong understanding of HVAC systems who is able to diagnose and repair problems quickly and efficiently. This position should be able to manage a team and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage complex projects, and ensure the delivery of top-quality HVAC, refrigeration, and property maintenance services.
A valid driver’s license and clean record is required for this position. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent problem-solving skills to support our clients’ needs efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead, Coordinate and Supervise field technicians performing HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Responsible for the profitability of the service department.
- Support training initiatives for technicians on new equipment or procedures to enhance team expertise.
- Conduct site inspections to assess system performance and recommend improvements or repairs.
- Supervises the Service Dispatcher (s) and parts person if applicable.
- Review all warranty invoices, making sure that all valid warranty issues are being addressed to the vendor, parts, misc. field materials and labor.
- Reviewing all service invoices daily and provide daily accounting billing.
- Approve all daily time cards.
- Oversee equipment repair and troubleshooting using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Manage service schedules, allocate resources, and ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Responsible for determining and setting service inventory policies and pricing.
- Securing work for the service department, revenue generation.
- Help Service Technicians out in the field when appropriate
- Make sure that all service vehicles are clean, stocked, running properly etc.
- Monthly vehicle and tool inspections.
- Fleet maintenance of service inventory stock.
- Quote large repair jobs and obtain approval from customers.
Skills
- Five years + related experience and/or training in customer service, management in the HVAC service and technical industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Organized
