HR and Compliance Manager

At Agave Pediatrics, we believe caring for children starts with caring for our people. We are a growing, physician-led pediatric practice with five locations and approximately 75 employees who are passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care to Arizona families.

We are seeking a full-time HR & Compliance leader who is excited to build strong systems, support a positive workplace culture, and ensure our practice operates with integrity, consistency, and regulatory excellence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on, and who wants to play a key role in supporting providers and staff across a multi-site healthcare organization.

You will serve as a trusted partner to leadership and employees—helping teams thrive while ensuring employment, regulatory, and healthcare compliance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resources & People Operations Serve as the primary HR resource for approximately 75 employees across five locations
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and offboarding
  • Maintain and update employee handbook, HR policies, and procedures in alignment with state and federal laws
  • Advise leadership on employee relations issues, including coaching, corrective action, investigations, and terminations
  • Support managers with performance reviews, documentation, and staff development plans
  • Ensure consistency in HR practices across all locations while supporting site-specific needs

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Oversee employment law compliance (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, Arizona labor laws, etc.)
  • Coordinate healthcare compliance efforts, including:
  • HIPAA and patient privacy training
  • OSHA and workplace safety requirements
  • Required annual staff training and certifications
  • Track and audit employee licensure, credentials, immunizations, background checks, and training compliance
  • Lead internal audits and proactively identify compliance and risk areas
  • Investigate, document, and resolve employee complaints, incidents, and compliance concerns

Training, Culture & Engagement

  • Develop and manage new hire orientation and ongoing training programs
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture
  • Serve as a confidential and approachable resource for employees
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives
  • Partner with leadership on change management and organizational growth
  • Administration & Systems Maintain accurate and compliant employee records and HRIS systems
  • Coordinate benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee education
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and workplace injury reporting
  • Support payroll processes in coordination with accounting and payroll vendors
  • Prepare HR and compliance reports related to staffing, turnover, training, and audits

Provider Credentialing Support

  • Support and oversee provider credentialing and recredentialing workflows
  • Track provider licensure, DEA registration, board certification, and payer enrollment deadlines
  • Coordinate with practice leadership and external credentialing partners to ensure timely onboarding of providers
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready credentialing records

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in human resources and compliance, preferably in healthcare or a multi-site organization
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Experience with provider credentialing and payer enrollment workflows
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Comfortable working independently while partnering closely with leadership
  • Passion for supporting teams that care for children and families
