Job Title: Painting Project Lead

Reports to: Shannon Duvall, General Manager


Position Overview and Objectives:

The Painting Project Lead is responsible for leading painting projects, ensuring project work plans developed meet client specifications with high-quality standards, while also contributing to the painting responsibilities of the project.


Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be required to:

  • Create project work plans for upcoming projects, reviewing proposed plans with General Manager weekly, then revising plans to meet changing requirements

  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of project(s) and scope of work, assessing project requirements, workflow, and delegating tasks appropriately among team members

  • Responsible for on-the-job problem solving and issue resolution for issues that remain within the current scope of the project’s timeline and budget

  • Collaborate with the General Manager on higher-level problem-solving issues that would result in a change to the project’s timeline and/or budget 

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards across all projects

  • Train painters in techniques, safety, and customer service

  • Manage project materials, inventory, and budget to minimize costs and waste

  • Assess and prepare surfaces for painting, selecting appropriate materials and techniques for each project

  • Accurately estimate the quantity of materials needed, optimizing for cost-effectiveness and minimizing waste

  • Adhere to project timelines, updating progress to ensure efficient completion

  • Deliver high-quality painting services, maintaining cleanliness and organization on-site to uphold safety and professionalism

  • Demonstrate respect for homeowners' property, safeguarding personal spaces, and upholding strict confidentiality concerning home details and resident privacy

  • Collaborate with team members and clients to achieve desired outcomes, adapting to feedback and project adjustments as necessary

  • Update work orders in tracking systems with change orders for changes made on the job site as needed 

  • Properly document worked shifts within the time-tracking system




Required Knowledge, Experience, Education, and Training:

The skills required for optimal job performance include:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Detailed knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and safety regulations

  • Ability to solve problems, make decisions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively

  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in the painting industry

Experience & Education required:

  • 2-5 years of professional painting experience, demonstrating a portfolio of completed projects

  • Proven experience leading teams or projects

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
