AI Integration & Business Process Specialist

WALD Manufacturing is looking for a motivated, hands-on individual to join our team and help us integrate AI, automation, and better processes throughout our entire business.
This is not a traditional IT position. The person in this role will work directly with our AI team, management, office staff, engineering, and shop-floor employees to identify opportunities to make our company more efficient, organized, automated, and easier to operate.
Our goal is not to replace our current team with AI. Our goal is to give our people better tools, better information, and better processes so they can be more successful.
What You’ll Work On
The position will touch nearly every part of the company, including:
- AI Integration
- Help identify where AI can improve everyday operations
- Implement AI tools for both office and manufacturing employees
- Help employees learn how to effectively use AI in their jobs
- Software & Systems
- Assist with building and improving internal software
- Help connect different systems and sources of information
- Work with our AI/software team to develop practical tools for employees
- Improve how information flows between departments
- Process Improvement & SOPs
- Learn how work is currently being performed
- Identify unnecessary steps, bottlenecks, and repetitive work
- Build and document better workflows
- Create clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Help turn employee knowledge into repeatable company processes
- Manufacturing & Shop-Floor Automation
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes
- Improve production and shop-floor workflow
- Help improve scheduling and job tracking
- Assist with quality-control systems and processes
- Help collect and organize manufacturing data
- Work with employees to develop practical solutions that actually work on the shop floor
- Accounting & Office Processes
- Improve accounting workflows
- Reduce duplicate data entry
- Automate repetitive office tasks
- Improve AP, AR, reporting, and information flow
- Help connect accounting processes with other areas of the company
- Sales & Customer Processes
- Improve sales processes and follow-up
- Develop better lead-tracking and customer-management systems
- Automate repetitive sales activities
- Improve the flow from customer inquiry → quote → order → production → delivery
- Marketing & Websites
- Improve marketing processes
- Help manage and improve company websites
- Use AI to assist with content, product information, SEO, and marketing
- Improve how product information moves from our internal systems to customers and websites
- Purchasing & Inventory
- Improve purchasing workflows
- Help automate purchase-order and approval processes
- Improve vendor and pricing information
- Improve inventory visibility
- Help create better communication between purchasing, manufacturing, sales, and accounting
Who We’re Looking For
We are more interested in ability, curiosity, problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn than a specific degree.
The ideal person:
- Is very comfortable working with computers and technology
- Has a strong interest in AI and automation
- Enjoys figuring out how things work
- Can look at a process and think, “There has to be a better way to do this.”
- Is comfortable working with both office employees and shop-floor employees
- Can take an idea and help turn it into a working solution
- Is organized and able to document processes clearly
- Is willing to learn manufacturing, accounting, sales, purchasing, and other areas of the business
- Understands that technology should make employees’ jobs easier—not make processes more complicated
- Is willing to get out from behind a desk, walk the factory floor, ask questions, and understand how the work is actually being done
