Red Oak Family Dental is excited to announce a job opening for a Part-Time Licensed Dental Hygienist. We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our thriving dental practice, located in and serving the community of Lake Elmo and surrounding cities of Woodbury, Stillwater, and Oakdale. Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform clinical dental hygiene procedures including cleaning, scaling/root planing, polishing, and fluoride treatments.
- Assess the dental condition and needs of patients; plan effective treatments to prevent and treat diseases according to the practice’s protocols and accepted community standards.
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, nutritional counseling).
- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) as required and recommended by Doctor.
- Ensure the proper management of dental and medical emergencies in the practice.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and protective measures to minimize the risk of infection and maximize patient safety.
- Document dental hygiene care provided and maintain accurate and complete patient care records.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the latest practices and technologies in dental hygiene.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of all dental instruments and operatories before and after procedures as per practice protocols.
- Help in maintaining clinic duties, shared between all members of the team.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
- Must hold a current Dental Hygienist licensure in the state of Minnesota.
- Seasoned and new Grads are welcome to apply.
- Strong skills in the areas of oral health promotion and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse patient populations and promote dental health practices effectively
- Detail-oriented with a rigorous commitment to infection control protocols.
