POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Lead Nurse will oversee clinical responsibilities, coordinating patient care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes while providing evidence-based care in accordance with established policies and protocols. This leadership role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support quality improvement initiatives and departmental safety standards, while ensuring cost-effective resource utilization. The Clinical Lead Nurse will manage a diverse team of Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Registered Nurses (RNs) across various specialties.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing program
- Licensed with the AZ State Board of Nursing in good standing
- Five (5) years of experience in a clinical setting
- Demonstrated application of Nursing Planning (Assessment, Nursing Diagnosis, Goals/Outcomes, Implementation, and Evaluation)
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical methods and techniques used in record-keeping systems
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality, privacy, and security of protected information
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Travel to all health centers is required as needed
- Advanced computer efficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience in the Patient Management System
- Meet the organization's immunization requirement
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and active automotive insurance
- Certification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and the Red Cross (cognitive and skills evaluations)
- Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations
- Participation in Community Events as required
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clinical Oversight
- Supervise clinical operations to ensure the highest standards of patient care are met, focusing on delivering safe and effective nursing practices.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement evidence-based practices to enhance the quality of care across all clinical areas.
- Coordinate care process for assigned High-Risk patients, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes through collaboration with healthcare providers.
- Quality Improvement
- Drive quality improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement in clinical practices and patient outcomes. Lead efforts to develop, implement, and evaluate quality improvement projects that align with organizational goals.
- Conduct regular audits of clinical practices and outcomes to ensure compliance with established protocols and standards of care.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensures the health center meets all state vaccine program requirements, including maintaining accurate documentation and tracking vaccination rates among patients.
- Stay informed about and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing healthcare practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory standards to ensure the clinic is always survey ready.
- Prepare for regulatory inspections and surveys, addressing any identified deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Clinical Incident Management
- Oversee the management and investigation of clinical incidents, ensuring that all incidents are adequately documented, reported, and addressed.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
- Address quality of care concerns promptly, collaborating with clinical staff to identify root causes and implement necessary changes.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Collaborate with the clinical support programs to ensure that designated medical assistants actively close care gaps and meet health plan requirements.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to support the Care Delivery Integration (CDI) model to promote continuity of care across specialties.
- Act as a liaison between clinical staff and administrative and nursing leadership, advocating for nursing perspectives and contributing to organizational decision-making processes.
- Team Management
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including medical assistants, LPNs, and RNs, fostering an environment of teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
- Provide mentorship and training to staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge, ensuring compliance with best practices in patient care.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set performance goals, and facilitate opportunities for career advancement and continuing education.
