Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Midwife to provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care within a clinical and hospital setting. Open positions are located at our Goodyear and Mesa clinics. The ideal candidate will support women throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote positive health outcomes and patient satisfaction while adhering to all regulatory standards and privacy laws.
Responsibilities
- Provide prenatal education, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of pregnant patients, including vital signs, physiology, and anatomy evaluations
- Assist with labor and delivery, including performing physical examinations, fetal monitoring, and supporting natural or assisted births
- Conduct postpartum care including family planning counseling, discharge planning, and newborn assessments
- Perform medical procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, medication administration, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, and pain management
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems in compliance with HIPAA and NCQA standards
- Monitor patient progress through vital signs, patient assessment, and medical records management
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in inpatient and outpatient settings to develop care plans aligned with OB/GYN protocols
- Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning options, and postpartum recovery
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies regarding patient safety, infection control, and quality standards such as CPT coding and ICD coding
Experience
- Proven experience in obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN), labor & delivery support, or NICU preferred
- Hands-on experience with suturing, administering injections, venipuncture, and specimen processing
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation best practices
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, pain management techniques, and patient assessment protocols
- Prior hospital or outpatient clinical experience in acute care settings is highly desirable
- Experience working within NCQA standards or similar accreditation frameworks is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to perform physical examinations and monitor vital signs accurately
- Skilled in discharge planning and developing individualized care plans for diverse patient populations
