We're looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant or Tax Manager who enjoys building long-term client relationships, solving complex tax issues, mentoring staff, and providing proactive tax planning.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 1041
  • Manage a portfolio of individual and business tax clients from planning through filing
  • Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide coaching and technical guidance
  • Prepare tax projections, estimated tax calculations, and year-end tax planning strategies
  • Research federal and state tax issues and provide practical recommendations
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding tax planning, notices, filing requirements, and tax questions
  • Analyze financial statements, trial balances, and accounting records for tax reporting
  • Assist clients with IRS and state tax notices and correspondence
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional value through proactive tax planning and advisory services
  • Collaborate directly with the firm's partners on complex tax engagements and special projects
  • Manage multiple engagements while providing exceptional client service

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA license preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065
  • Experience with fiduciary and trust returns is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax laws
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service

Software Experience

  • Drake Tax preferred
  • QuickBooks Online
  • QuickBooks Desktop
  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Acrobat
