Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform initial dental assessments and prepare patient charts with findings.
• Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g., scaling & root planing, periodontal maintenance, adult prophy) 
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene strategies to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
• Consult with dentists and assist in developing treatment plans for patients.
• Use a variety of modern dental instruments including ultrasonic devices, rotary instruments, and digital radiograph machines.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to organization standards and legal regulations.
• Assist in the management of medical and dental emergencies.
• Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies as required.
• Stay up to date with advancements in dental hygiene technologies and practices, ensuring continuous improvement in patient care services.
• Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and promote team synergy.
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Current dental hygienist license in the state of practice.
• Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist.
• Strong understanding of dental hygiene procedures and protocols.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to make patients feel at ease and explain complex information clearly.
• Kind, outgoing personality with a love for people and passion for dental health.
• Highly organized and attentive to detail, ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.
