Please note, this is an on-site position requiring the hygienist to be present at our local office. The role is structured for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, making it an ideal fit for professionals seeking to balance work with other commitments. Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct initial dental assessments and prepare patient for dental examinations.
- Perform routine dental cleanings and assist in the management of oral hygiene practices.
- Apply preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides).
- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) and provide proper care and maintenance of dental equipment.
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
- Assess patient oral hygiene problems or needs and maintain health records.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a dental office.
- Proficiency in using dental software and computerized office applications.
- Strong understanding of dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, and other staff members.
