Highland Village Family Dentistry is excited to announce a full-time dental assistant opportunity in our dynamic team. We are currently looking for dedicated and enthusiastic applicant to fill the position of Dental Assistant . This pivotal role is suited for professionals who are committed to providing excellent patient care and support within a fast-pace dental environment. Please note, this dental assistant position is based onsite at our well-equipped facility, and is not available for remote work.
As a core member of our back office team, you will play a significant role in supporting our dental professionals to deliver exceptional dental services. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist dentist with patient care during procedures, ensuring that all instruments and materials are available as needed.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment for treatments.
- Process and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control guidelines.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and manage diagnostic imaging under the dentist’s supervision.
- Monitor and update patient records with treatments, notes, and relevant information in our dental software system.
- Ensure operation rooms are tidy and properly set up for each patient's appointment.
- Provide patients with aftercare instructions post-treatment and educate them on oral health practices.
- Manage inventory of dental office supplies and place orders when necessary, ensuring that there is no shortages.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards in all activities and procedures within the dental office.
- Participate in dental office meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures and protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as Dental Assistant or similar role in dental back office settings.
- Valid dental assistant certificate and X-ray certification.
- Deep knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Comfortable with dental practice management software and proficient in appointment scheduling and record keeping.
- Exceptional communication and patient care skills; capable of handling various patient needs with compassion and professionalism.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain calm under pressure, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach in supporting dental procedures and office management.
- Commitment to continual education and training in dental services and office procedures.
