IT Level 2 Technician
Systems Administrator | Mesa, AZ | Full-Time, On-Site | Mon–Fri, 8:00am–5:00pm | $55,000–$70,000 (based on experience)

THE ROLE
You will be the backbone of client IT operations — managing systems, resolving complex issues, and delivering projects that move businesses forward. This is a hands-on, high-ownership position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced MSP environment and takes pride in clean, well-documented infrastructure.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Administer and monitor client servers, networking devices, and cloud environments to maintain uptime
- Lead projects: system upgrades, migrations, new deployments, and infrastructure improvements
- Diagnose and resolve escalated hardware, software, and network issues with minimal client downtime
- Design, test, and validate backup and disaster recovery procedures for client environments
- Manage Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and group policy across multiple client tenants
- Enforce and improve security posture: patch management, endpoint protection, firewall rules, and access controls
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and role-based access in compliance with client security policies
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that deliver measurable improvements in performance or cost
- Author and maintain clear technical documentation: network diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and incident logs
- Mentor Level 1 technicians and provide escalation support, raising the capability of the broader team
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- 3+ years of hands-on systems administration experience in an MSP or enterprise IT environment
- Proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Solid experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls
- Experience with backup technologies and disaster recovery planning
- Strong troubleshooting methodology — you diagnose systematically, document thoroughly, and communicate clearly
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple client environments without dropping the ball
Preferred
- Relevant certifications: CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft (MD-102, AZ-104), or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft 365
- Familiarity with RMM and PSA platforms (ConnectWise, Kaseya, Datto RMM, or similar)
- Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls) and compliance environments (HIPAA, PCI)
