Electrical & IT Inspector (Construction / Low Voltage Systems)

Salary Range:  $131,000 - $142,000 year

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical & IT Inspector to oversee and ensure compliance of electrical and low-voltage systems across construction projects. This role is responsible for inspecting installations, reviewing plans, and ensuring all systems meet applicable safety codes and regulatory standards.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in electrical systems, low-voltage infrastructure, and construction inspections, who can work collaboratively with contractors, engineers, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of electrical systems, including wiring, panels, conduits, and related infrastructure
  • Inspect low-voltage / IT systems, such as data cabling, communications, security, and access control systems
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and technical documents for compliance
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and national codes (NEC, NFPA, etc.)
  • Document inspection results, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Monitor job sites to ensure work is performed safely and according to approved plans
  • Identify and report deficiencies, recommending corrective actions

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electrical inspection, construction, or related field
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, local regulations)
  • Experience with low-voltage / IT systems (data, telecom, security systems)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ICC Electrical Inspector, NFPA, OSHA)
  • Experience working on commercial or public infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with permitting and compliance processes
