Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with the club's menu and health standards, under the supervision of the Chef de Cuisine 
  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant management.
  • Coordinate food orders to support timely and efficient delivery to each table.
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Assist with the selection and procurement of ingredients.
  • Maintain inventory of food supplies and equipment.
  • Experiment with new recipes to provide a variety of offerings and keep the dining experience interesting and dynamic.
  • Assist with scheduling and budgeting to optimize kitchen operations.
  • Provide input into the development of the menu and special dishes.
  • Mentor and guide kitchen staff to enhance skill levels and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a cook in a similar environment
  • Culinary arts training and/or certification preferred, but not required
  • Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Exceptional ability to create high-quality dishes both in taste and visual appeal.
  • Adept at adjusting dishes to accommodate allergies and other dietary restrictions.
  • Excellent time management abilities with a proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for perfecting recipes and minimizing waste.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with staff.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical endurance to perform tasks standing for long periods.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and training in culinary skills and nutrition.
