Job Description
The Powhatan Club, a premier private fine dining and social club, is excited to announce an opening for a Valet Attendant. This position plays a critical role in enhancing our guests' first and last impressions of the club. As a Valet Attendant, you will be responsible for the safe handling of vehicles and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all visitors and members. This is a Part-Time position. Candidates must be prepared to work onsite at The Powhatan Club's facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests and members warmly and professionally as they arrive and depart from the club.
- Assist guests by opening vehicle doors and escorting them to the entrance if necessary.
- Manage the efficient parking and retrieval of vehicles in a timely manner.
- Monitor and manage the parking area to ensure safety and to maximize space utilization.
- Keep a log of parked vehicles and their respective locations within the facility.
- Maintain a professional appearance and deportment at all times.
- Provide a high level of customer service and address any guest concerns or questions promptly.
- Ensure the secure handling of keys and other access devices.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks on vehicles if needed, such as adjusting mirrors or ensuring that vehicles are clean and ready for guest use.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company regulations while operating vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure a seamless experience for guests.
- Handle any emergencies that arise in a calm and efficient manner.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Valet Attendant is preferred but not mandatory.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles efficiently.
- Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage politely with guests.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods and ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High level of professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
