Teen Age Republicans, Inc. (TARS) is pleased to announce exciting summer internship opportunities. TARS is the official high school auxiliary of the Republican National Committee. These internship positions are designed for driven, enthusiastic individuals looking to make significant contributions in a vibrant and dynamic political setting. These internships are ideal for students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining firsthand experience and insights into the workings of a major political organization.
The roles offered are in-office positions, emphasizing the importance of direct collaboration and engagement with the team. Please note, this is not a remote job opportunity. Interns will be based at our Tennessee office, with some travel to our DC headquarters, taking part in a bustling political environment, with each day presenting new challenges and learning opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and communication with new and existing clubs and state federations within the TARS network.
- Engage in effective database management to ensure all member information is up-to-date and accurately maintained.
- Develop and create engaging content across multiple platforms to support campaigns and inform members and the public.
- Interface directly with campaigns and other party organizations to align strategies and facilitate successful collaboration for youth engagement.
- Participate in the planning and executing of events and campaigns, providing logistical and administrative support as needed.
- Conduct research on political trends and assist in the analysis of data to inform strategic decisions.
- Attend meetings and seminars to better understand the inner workings of TARS at various levels and contribute to discussions and planning sessions.
- Help in preparing briefs, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the organization's social media efforts by producing timely and relevant posts aligned with current political events and organizational needs.
- Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned by the supervision team, tailored to the intern’s interests and organizational requirements.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program in Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in politics, specifically within the Republican sphere, and a commitment to promoting the organization’s values and objectives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for clear and effective dissemination of information.
- Proficiency in database management and MS Office applications; familiarity with CRM platforms preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and maintain a professional demeanor in a politically sensitive environment.
- Initiative and self-drive, with a willingness to learn and take on responsibilities beyond the typical internship scope.
- Creative and critical thinking skills to contribute to both strategic discussions and content creation.
- Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced, changing environment typical of political organizations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Housing and some meals may be provided.
