Jowett & Lewis Family Dentistry, a well-respected and thriving dental practice, is excited to announce an opening for a highly skilled Front Office Receptionist. We are searching for a dedicated individual who is keen to contribute positively to our team and provide exceptional first-point contact services in our reception area. This Full-Time position is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our practice and ensuring that all our patients consistently receive outstanding customer service.
Located centrally in Topeka, KS, the office is bustling and demands a dynamic individual adept at managing multiple tasks efficiently. Please note, this role is not eligible for remote work and requires physical presence at our local office during business hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Warmly greeting and welcoming patients upon their arrival, ensuring they feel comfortable and attended to during their visit.
- Efficiently managing appointment scheduling using our practice management software, including booking, rescheduling, and cancellation as needed.
- Handling telephone and email inquiries professionally, providing necessary information and redirecting calls to appropriate staff as required.
- Overseeing the waiting area, maintaining a tidy and organized environment that reflects the professional image of our practice.
- Verifying dental insurance details, processing claims, and discussing coverage information with patients clearly and accurately.
- Executing billing operations, issuing invoices, and managing receivables promptly and accurately.
- Maintaining patient records with high levels of accuracy and confidentiality, ensuring all paperwork is filled correctly and stored securely.
- Facilitating communication between patients, dentists, and other staff members to manage daily operations smoothly.
- Providing strong support in handling emergencies by prioritizing tasks and maintaining calm and professionalism under pressure.
- Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed, thereby enhancing overall practice performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a medical or dental office environment.
- Strong communication and phone handling skills with the ability to interact positively with patients and team members.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure, managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality of work.
- Highly reliable with punctuality and dependability being critical traits for daily operations.
- Demonstration of accuracy in tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and financial transactions.
- A friendly and fun demeanor that contributes positively to the team atmosphere and enhances patient experience.
- Capability to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a harmonious working environment.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in using office software and the capability to quickly learn new applications as needed.
- Understanding of and experience with dental insurance verification, claims processing, and billing procedures.
