Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures by handing instruments and materials or operating suction and other equipment.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms in accordance with infection control policies.
- Work with patients to take dental x-rays under the guidance of the dentist.
- Help maintain dental records and schedule appointments as necessary.
- Contribute to the ordering and restocking of consumables and dental supplies.
- Ensure the comfort of the patients before, during, and after dental treatment.
- Assist with front office tasks as needed such as answering phones and greeting patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current certification in CPR and dental radiography, as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience as a friendly and reliable team member who positively contributes to team environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills notable for interacting with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and cross-contamination avoidance.
- Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills and stay updated with advancements in dental practices.
- Demonstration of empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties which may require extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
- Legal authorization to work in the country without the need for sponsorship.
