About the Role
The Dental Assistant at Aktiv Insight supports the dental care team by preparing for patient visits, assisting during procedures, and helping maintain a smooth, patient-centered experience. Success in this role means delivering reliable chairside support, maintaining accurate documentation, and following clinical and safety standards consistently.
This position is based in Denver, CO and is full-time. You will play an important role in ensuring patients feel welcomed and cared for while supporting efficient operations within the practice.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist and clinical team during patient examinations, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring readiness for each appointment.
- Take and/or assist with dental radiographs and help maintain appropriate documentation and imaging records.
- Maintain infection control standards by following established protocols for sterilization and PPE use.
- Support patient flow by preparing patients for procedures, confirming information, and addressing basic needs.
- Record patient information accurately in accordance with clinic procedures and documentation standards.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and restocking supplies as needed.
- Prepare materials and instruments for procedures, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage.
- Support dental hygiene and patient comfort by assisting with chair setup, positioning, and basic post-visit needs.
- Communicate professionally with patients and the care team to support clear, respectful coordination.
Requirements
- DA Licensed (Dental Assistant license) required.
- Education: Completion of an accredited dental assisting program (or equivalent training as recognized by applicable licensing requirements).
- Years of experience: Prior dental assisting experience preferred (specific years not required).
- Knowledge of dental terminology, basic procedures, and chairside assisting practices.
- Experience supporting infection control and sterilization workflows in a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with dental software and documentation tools (e.g., scheduling and patient record systems) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Professional communication skills with patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and a calm, supportive presence.
