Aktiv Insight is excited to announce a career opportunity for a dedicated and skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This full-time position plays a pivotal role in providing our clients with superior technical services, maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in non-residential settings. This position is onsite and requires working in various locations as assigned by the management.

As an HVAC Service Technician at Aktiv Insight, you will be part of a team that emphasizes professional growth, work integrity, and a commitment to excellence. The position is based in our headquarters and involves traveling to client sites for system installations, repairs, and routine maintenance. The ideal candidate should be ready to work in a fast-paced environment, managing work orders and ensuring all installations and repairs meet the industry standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, and maintain HVAC systems including ventilation and air conditioning units and apparatus.
  • Diagnose and repair issues within the HVAC systems, including any malfunctions, leaks, or system failures.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and routine inspections of systems and connected equipment.
  • Replace or repair damaged or dysfunctional parts and equipment.
  • Test individual components to determine necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training to junior technicians and apprentices.
  • Keep records of maintenance services and installations performed, aligned with work safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Liaise with clients to understand specific systems issues and resolve them promptly.
  • Stay updated with the latest changes and updates in HVAC technology and practice.
  • Carry out any other related jobs as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with formal training/apprenticeship in HVAC systems installation and repair.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, Installer, or in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair HVAC systems using modern testing equipment.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently when required.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, supervisors, and co-workers.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and perform typical tasks associated with installing and repairing HVAC systems.
  • Certificates of completion of safety courses may be required.
