Duties and Responsibilities
- Warmly greeting and checking in patients, ensuring a hospitable and smooth reception experience.
- Handling dental insurance claims meticulously and conducting follow-ups on outstanding claims.
- Effectively appealing insurance claims denials as needed and managing correspondence with insurance providers.
- Efficiently managing the daily operations of the front desk, including schedule management and patient communication.
- Answering incoming calls with professionalism, assisting with patient inquiries, and providing precise information.
- Coordinating the hygiene schedule to optimize workflow and patient satisfaction.
- Maintaining comprehensive records of insurance payments and patient accounts.
- Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental front office or insurance coordinator role.
- Deep understanding and experience in handling various dental insurance processes, including claims and appeals.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further certification in dental office administration is preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work independently and make decisions that align with practice protocols.
- Knowledge of dental software programs and proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Flexibility to work according to the set schedule: Monday and Tuesday 8-5, Wednesday 7-4, Thursday 8-5, and Friday 8-12.
- A supportive and positive attitude, with a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
- Previous experience in a periodontal or surgical dental office is preferred.
