Fulfillment Lead
(Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing setting)
Location: 3617 E La Salle St, Phoenix, AZ 85040 (40th and Southern)
Shift: Full time, day shift (5:30am - 3pm)
Position Summary
The Fulfillment Lead oversees daily order fulfillment and shipping operations in a fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading the fulfillment team, coordinating order-picking and shipment priorities, and ensuring all orders are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. The Fulfillment Lead owns department workflows, supports continuous improvement efforts, and works closely with Production Control, Quality, Operations, and Procurement to optimize the order-to-ship cycle and meet customer delivery expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support daily activities of fulfillment clerks and shipping personnel.
- Coordinate fulfillment priorities to meet customer delivery requirements and operational needs.
- Own and maintain fulfillment processes, picking workflows, and shipping standards.
- Train team members on fulfillment procedures, packaging requirements, ERP transactions, and customer expectations.
- Hold team accountable for accuracy, organization, and adherence to standard company procedures.
- Ensure all orders meet customer, quality, and strict export compliance requirements.
- Review packing slips, certifications, labels, and fulfillment documentation for total accuracy.
- Coordinate logistics carriers for parcel, freight, LTL, and expedited shipments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Production Control, Quality, and Operations to resolve issues.
- Support inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Identify process improvements to streamline the fulfillment cycle and eliminate bottlenecks.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and highly organized fulfillment and staging area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Aerospace and defense industry experience strongly preferred.
- Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Due to ITAR requirements, must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of ITAR and aerospace shipping requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability mindset.
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20+ pounds on a regular basis
- Requires standing, bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, reaching, sitting, fine hand/finger manipulation up to 8 hours per day
