Jr. Planner / Scheduler

Location: North Phoenix - 2688 E Rose Garden Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85050
Shift: Full time, day shift
Due to the nature of work performed in our facility, all employees must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.
The Junior Planner/Scheduler supports the machine shop’s production scheduling activities by assisting in the coordination of work orders, monitoring job progress, and maintaining scheduling accuracy in the ERP/MRP system. This entry-level position provides exposure to aerospace manufacturing planning and serves as a career pathway to higher-level planning or scheduling roles.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and maintaining detailed production schedules for machining, assembly, and finishing operations
- Issue, update, and track work orders in ERP/MRP systems
- Monitor progress against schedules and escalate potential delays or resource conflicts
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and quality to resolve material shortages or workflow issues
- Prepare and distribute status and performance reports
- Maintain accurate data records to support capacity planning
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to streamline planning and scheduling
Skills & Abilities :
- Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook
- Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow procedures
- Effective communication skills with both shop floor employees and management
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to communicate effectively with shop floor personnel, supervisors, and management
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
- Interest in developing a career in planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within aerospace manufacturing
Education & Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of manufacturing environments (through work experience, vocational training, or coursework)
- Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR requirements (citizen or permanent resident)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods (typically at a desk using a computer)
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and data entry
- Visual acuity for reading documents and viewing computer screens
- Ability to move within an office or machine shop environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- May require walking, standing, or light lifting while conducting supplier visits or on-site inspections
- Occasionally lift or carry items up to 25 lbs (rarely required to move heavier objects)
- Must tolerate exposure to machining dust, oils, and moderate noise levels in a manufacturing environment
