A Day in the Life of a Dental Hygienist at Acacia
On any given day at Acacia, you can expect to:
Use all dental equipment with care and ownership while ensuring patient safety.
Perform dental cleanings, remove plaque, stains, and deposits beneath the gum line, and promote preventative care.
Take quality x-rays and assist the dentist in examinations and treatment planning.
Complete opening and closing duties alongside the team.
Record patient medical histories, document oral health conditions, and collaborate with the dentist on treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and help them establish effective home-care regimens.
Sharpen, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments with precision.
Provide compassionate care that makes patients feel valued, understood, and supported.
60-90 minutes per patient

Dental Hygienist Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
Current state-issued Dental Hygiene license.
Current CPR certification.
Current Hepatitis B immunization.
Ability to administer local anesthetics and operate dental x-ray equipment.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
Strong knowledge of oral hygiene and preventative dental health.
