Salary Range:  $22 - $25 hour

Elite Construction is hiring dependable experienced - Mig/ Tig Welders who must be familiar with OSHA and can pass a welding test before moving forward to next process of hiring. 


Lays out, aligns, fits and welds fabricated steel components to assemble structural forms. This is a production work setting. 

Calibrate, configure, and operate MIG and TIG welding machines by adjusting amperage, voltage, gas flow, and wire feed speeds

Operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saw, roll, brake, press, forming machine, spinning machine and punch to cut, bend and shape all sorts of steel. Analyze work orders and read blueprints to determine information such as material to be used and types and sequence of operations to be used for fabrication.

Must be a leader and have great attitude working in shop and on the job site and follow are safety requirements. 

Must be able to pass a drug test at all times! 

Must have your own tools. 

Must be able to work night shift when needed.

Job Title: Structural Fabrication Welder- Mig and Tig  


Responsibilities:

  • Follow established jobsite safety and regulations, work in a safe and efficient manner, and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Read and understand plans and specifications, including diagrams, prints.
  • Weld components according to specific process and code; cut and weld members to make alterations, using oxyacetylene cutting and welding equipment.
  •  Lays out, aligns, fits and welds fabricated steel components to assemble structural forms.
  • Own Welding Hood;
  • Welding steel trailers in various positions;
  • Lifting, moving, and holding or clamping work pieces to table, into jigs, or into position as directed manually or by using pry bar;
  • Utilize Arc W elding Process that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode;
  • Tig and Mig welding skills required;
  • Must have at least 9 months welding experience;
  • Must have longevity in the workforce;
  • Must be able to steep, bend, push, pull, and lift steel sheet;
  • Individual will be responsible for welding metal components in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions;
  • Must be able to complete your own quality checks to avoid overheating of parts;
  • Moving work pieces, tools, and supplies, manually or by hand truck;
  • Examine pieces for defects and measure for accuracy and fit;
  • Utilize Stringer Technique with Single Passes on Carbon Steel;
  • Meeting daily production goals.

  • Education – High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Preferred
  • Experience – Structural welding experience; must pass welder certification test.
  • Must have a working knowledge of various welding processes, coeds, techniques and methods related to structural steel welding.
  • Must read and understand plans and specifications, including diagrams, prints, orthographic and isometric drawings and visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
  • Must be familiar with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques.

Overtime 

This job is Monday thru Friday from 7:30am until 4:30 pm with some overtime and weekend work 

Must be a team player. 

Must be able to pass a welding test
