About the Role:
The National Development Associate will be responsible for managing fundraising efforts and donor relations. This role involves working closely with the development team to implement fundraising strategy, develop relationships with donors, and contribute to organizational growth. This individual will represent the organization, focusing on donor cultivation and major gift acquisition.
Responsibilities:
Create and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial support.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
Research and identify new funding prospects to engage potential donors effectively.
Assist in the creation of compelling fundraising materials such as proposals, sponsorship packages, and donor communications.
Plan and execute fundraising events and other engagement activities for supporters.
Maintain and update accurate donor records using donor management software (Salesforce).
Work with the communications team to implement donor recognition strategies and ensure contributions are acknowledged appropriately.
Keep up-to-date with trends and best practices in fundraising and incorporate these into strategy.
Provide regular reports on fundraising activities, progress, and outcomes to the Deputy Chief Operations Officer.

Qualifications:
Alignment with the organization’s outlook and mission.
Proven experience building relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate donors.
Track record of securing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or think tank environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using donor management software (Salesforce) and fundraising tools (FundraiseUp).
Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
