The Digital Content and Engagement Manager will lead the creation and execution of strategic, creative content to amplify the organization’s research, programs, and events across digital platforms. This role is key to strengthening the organization’s online presence and engaging a global audience through compelling storytelling, email marketing, social media, multimedia production, and data-driven strategy. The ideal candidate is a versatile content creator and strategist who can translate complex policy ideas into accessible digital formats that align with the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Strategy

• Develop and implement digital content strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.

• Present research and highlight topics in compelling, accessible content across formats including social media posts, newsletters, blog articles, videos, and podcasts.

• Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in tone and quality, and optimized for each digital channel.

• Collaborate with policy staff, researchers, and program leads to develop content ideas and campaigns that reflect organizational priorities.

• Assist with planning, drafting, and scheduling social media content across platforms in coordination with the communications team.

Multimedia and Digital Production

• Lead the full lifecycle of podcast production: planning, recording, editing, and distribution in collaboration with the scheduler, editors, and communications team.

• Produce multimedia content (audio, video, graphics) to support communications and campaigns.

• Manage e-marketing activities and collaborate closely with the CRM Manager to maintain high-quality contact data.

• Oversee website updates and apply SEO best practices to increase content visibility and user engagement.

• Work closely with social media staff to ensure that multimedia assets are properly formatted, tagged, and published across relevant platforms.

Digital Engagement, Marketing, and Analytics

• Manage the email marketing calendar, crafting and scheduling content tailored to target audiences.

• Promote content and help maximize online visibility in new and innovative ways.

• Collaborate with the communications team on social media engagement tactics, audience growth strategies, and trend monitoring.

• Monitor and report on the performance of digital content using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot dashboards) to evaluate impact and guide strategy improvements.

• Stay ahead of digital trends and platforms to ensure the organization remains innovative and relevant in its outreach efforts.

• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in digital content creation, e-marketing management, and multimedia production.

• Proficiency with tools such as HubSpot, content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalents).

• Experience producing podcasts or other multimedia formats is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with managing or assisting in the management of social media accounts (e.g., Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook).

• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills tailored for digital audiences.

• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• A strategic mindset, with the ability to use analytics to inform content and engagement strategies.

• Knowledge of nonprofit, research, or mission-driven communications is a plus.

• A collaborative work style with the ability to effectively coordinate with remote teams and contributors.
