MMI is looking to hire experienced Handrail Fabricator/Welders who have at least 3 years of experience in handrail fabrication/welding. Handrail fabricators/welders are involved in assembling and fitting to blueprint dimensions of all kinds of handrails (std. pipe, flat bar, channel etc.). Must be able to pass a drug test.

Job Description: Our structural steel shop is seeking an experienced Handrail Fabrication Specialist to join our team. This role requires a skilled fabricator who can produce a wide range of custom handrails, from flat bar rails to standard pipe rail systems. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced structural steel environment and capable of meeting tight tolerances and job specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

· Fabricate handrails using flat bar, pipe, angle, channel, and other structural materials.

· Operate saws, presses, welders, and other fabrication tools with precision.

· Interpret shop drawings, field measurements, and architectural details.

· Ensure all railings meet project specs, code compliance, and safety standards.

· Collaborate with shop foremen and field crews to meet production deadlines.

· Load, deliver, and assist with installation as needed.

Requirements:

· Minimum 3 years of experience in handrail fabrication, preferably in a structural steel shop.

· Strong welding skills (MIG required; TIG/Stick a plus).

· Ability to read and understand structural and architectural drawings.

· Familiarity with ADA, OSHA, and building code requirements for railings.

· Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.

· Must have reliable transportation and basic hand tools.

· Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Forklift and overhead crane experience.

· Field installation experience.

· Experience with galvanized, stainless steel, and aluminum materials.

Pay range: $22.00 - $29.00 an hour
