Roofing Laborer
About the Role
Florida Energy Solutions LLC is seeking dependable Roofing Laborers to support residential shingle roof tear-offs and installations throughout the Tampa Bay area. This contract/temporary role is ideal for hardworking individuals who take pride in safe, quality jobsite work and are ready to learn and contribute as part of a roofing team.
Success in this role means assisting with efficient tear-off and installation tasks, following safety procedures, keeping the work area clean, and supporting the crew to complete projects on schedule and to specification.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Remove old roofing materials during residential shingle roof tear-offs.
- Assist with shingle installation and related roofing tasks as directed by the crew.
- Load, unload, and stage roofing materials, tools, and equipment at the jobsite.
- Move jobsite materials safely to support ongoing installation and tear-off work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout each phase of the project.
- Follow jobsite safety practices, including proper PPE use and safe work habits.
- Support the team with basic prep and cleanup activities before and after work.
- Inspect work areas for hazards and report concerns to the lead or supervisor.
- Assist with handling and securing materials to prevent damage and waste.
- Collaborate with crew members to stay on schedule and meet project expectations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of roofing experience.
- Experience working with tile, shingle, and flat roofs.
- Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong reliability and punctuality; able to follow directions and learn quickly.
- Comfort working on ladders and at heights while maintaining safe practices.
- Knowledge of basic roofing materials, tools, and jobsite workflow (preferred).
- Ability to lift and carry materials safely and consistently throughout the shift.
- Clear communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced work environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean jobsite.
