Position Summary

McLain Site Solutions is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher Foreman to lead concrete finishing crews on commercial and heavy civil construction projects. This position is responsible for supervising daily operations, coordinating labor, equipment, and materials, and ensuring all concrete work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead concrete finishing crews on active construction projects.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work activities to meet project schedules and production goals.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Lay out work and ensure forms, reinforcement, embeds, elevations, and finished concrete meet project specifications.
  • Oversee concrete placement, screeding, floating, edging, jointing, finishing, and curing operations.
  • Ensure proper concrete mix placement, grade, slope, and finish quality.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Track labor hours, production, materials, and daily job reports.
  • Communicate project progress, manpower needs, equipment issues, and schedule updates with project managers and superintendents.
  • Identify project challenges and develop solutions to minimize delays while controlling labor and material costs.
  • Order materials and coordinate deliveries to keep projects running efficiently.
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure company equipment, tools, and vehicles are properly maintained and used safely.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of concrete finishing experience, including supervisory or foreman experience
  • Extensive knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, curing, and quality control
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and construction plans
  • Experience coordinating crews, equipment, and materials
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and make sound, budget-conscious decisions
  • Experience ordering materials and coordinating deliveries
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred

  • Experience in heavy civil or site development construction
  • Experience with Contractor Foreman or similar construction management software
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • CDL
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Climb ladders, work around excavations, and navigate uneven terrain.

Work Environment

This position is performed primarily on active construction sites. Employees regularly work around heavy equipment, fresh concrete, moving machinery, dust, noise, vibration, and varying weather conditions. Required PPE must be worn at all times.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday
  • Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • One-hour unpaid lunch
  • Overtime may be available based on project needs and business needs.
