Fine Dining Server Assistant and Food Runner
About the Role
Blu Prime Steakhouse is seeking a Part-Time Fine Dining Server Assistant and Food Runner to support our service team and help deliver a polished, memorable guest experience. You’ll assist Servers with key steps of service, support food delivery from the kitchen, and maintain a clean, well-prepared dining environment.
Success in this role means staying attentive to guest needs, working with speed and composure, and following service standards with accuracy—from table setup and water refills to running food and ensuring every table is ready throughout the shift.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Servers with the steps of service to ensure smooth, consistent guest experiences.
- Run food from the kitchen to the correct tables, confirming accuracy and timing.
- Provide water refills and address basic guest needs promptly and professionally.
- Box and prepare food orders as needed, following service and handling standards.
- Set up tables with attention to detail, including proper placement of settings and essentials.
- Support table breakdown and reset between seatings, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Polish glassware and maintain a presentable dining area throughout the shift.
- Carry heavy trays while maintaining balance, composure, and safe movement.
- Maintain a sense of urgency during peak periods while staying accurate and respectful.
- Memorize table numbers and follow pivot seating procedures to support efficient service flow.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure guest orders are delivered correctly and on time.
Requirements
- Ability to carry heavy trays while maintaining balance, composure, and safe movement.
- Ability to set table settings and complete setup/breakdown tasks with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with urgency during busy service periods without sacrificing accuracy.
- Ability to memorize table numbers and follow pivot seating procedures as directed.
- Willingness to support multiple tasks throughout the shift, based on service needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; education requirements may be flexible based on experience.
- Previous experience in fine dining, restaurant service support, or food running is preferred (1+ year preferred).
- Familiarity with basic restaurant operations and service standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a guest-focused, professional attitude.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to maintain consistent performance during long shifts.
