Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailer dry van trailers and day cab trucks, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across diverse locations
- Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to identify potential issues before departure or upon arrival
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving for freight transportation
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements as applicable
- Demonstrated ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform truck loading/unloading tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures and safety protocols for dangerous goods
- Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazard management standards
