Dental Assistant/Orthodontic Assistant

Toothbeary Pediatric Dentistry is looking for a friendly, motivated, and dependable Dental Assistant / Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing dental and orthodontic team. We are dedicated to providing exceptional dental care in a fun, welcoming, and child-friendly environment where every patient feels safe, valued, and excited to visit the dentist. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, organized, professional, and enjoys working with children and teens.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist and orthodontist during clinical procedures and patient appointments
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials
- Take dental/orthodontic records, photographs, and X-rays as permitted by state regulations
- Assist with orthodontic procedures, including bracket placement, wire changes, impressions/scans, and appliance delivery
- Provide patients with instructions regarding oral hygiene and orthodontic care
- Sterilize and maintain instruments and clinical equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming treatment environment
- Update patient records accurately and efficiently
- Communicate professionally with patients, parents, and team members
- Help provide an exceptional patient experience from check-in through treatment
- Follow all OSHA, infection-control, and office safety procedures
Requirements
- Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant experience preferred
- Orthodontic experience is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Any required state dental assisting certifications or radiology credentials
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Ability to build rapport with patients and make them feel comfortable
