Job Description

Physicians Choice is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team in a full-time capacity. This pivotal role is designed for a professional eager to make a significant impact in the lives of patients through physical therapy. The position requires hands-on engagement and is not eligible for remote work. Candidates must be prepared to operate within various patient homes under the direct supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist, adhering strictly to prescribed therapy plans and contributing to patient recovery and well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement physical therapy plans as established by a Registered Physical Therapist.
  • Travel to and from patient homes to provide therapy services.
  • Assist patients in performing specific exercises as part of the regime prescribed by the physical therapist.
  • Use devices and equipment to support patient recovery and promote physical activity.
  • Document patient responses and progress in patient records and report outcomes to supervising therapist.
  • Adjust therapy techniques based on patient progress or feedback, always under the direction of the supervising therapist.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of patients' medical data and personal information.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and physical therapists to ensure clarity in the treatment plans and therapies provided.
  • Adhere strictly to clinical and operational guidelines, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid Oregon state physical therapy assistant license.
  • Current CPR certification card.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between patient homes within designated service areas.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Physical stamina and mobility to perform intensive therapy procedures and assist patients.
  • Ability to adhere to a Monday through Friday, full-time schedule, ensuring consistent service delivery.
  • Proactive in acquiring new orders and adhering to existing orders from physicians.
  • Attention to detail for accurate documentation of patient progress and therapy effectiveness.
  • A dedicated approach to patient care, ensuring a compassionate and professional treatment environment at all times.
