Job Description

Table To Table, a leader in food rescue and hunger relief, is excited to announce an opening for a Communications and Development Coordinator. This full-time position is integral to our mission of preventing food waste and addressing community hunger by enhancing our reach and resources through strategic communication and development initiatives. This role is based in our main office and requires in-person collaboration, as this is not a remote job opportunity.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering the organization’s image and enhancing its fundraising efforts. They will be responsible for developing effective communication strategies and organizing fundraising campaigns that align with our goals of food rescue, waste reduction, and hunger alleviation. This position offers a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to meaningful projects that have a tangible impact on the community.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate annual communications plans in collaboration with the development team and other organizational sectors.
  • Create and manage all written and visual content for organization newsletters, annual reports, and promotional materials.
  • Design and produce materials such as ads, flyers, banners, brochures, fact sheets, event signage, and invitations, adhering to the brand and messaging standards of Table To Table.
  • Plan and coordinate the board’s annual dinner and any other major fundraising events, including overseeing event planning committees.
  • Initiate and maintain productive media relationships, managing outreach to enhance public awareness and support.
  • Coordinate and facilitate community engagement initiatives to bolster volunteer recruitment and community involvement.
  • Develop fundraising campaigns that leverage both traditional and innovative fundraising methods, including direct mail appeals and online giving strategies.
  • Maintain continuous evaluation of the effectiveness of communication strategies and development activities, making adjustments as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in fundraising, community engagement, or communications.
  • Strong dedication to the advocacies of food rescue, hunger relief, and food waste reduction, and capable of acting as an enthusiastic advocate for Table To Table’s mission.
  • Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills, essential for recruiting volunteers, fundraising, and promoting the organization's initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Highly motivated and dependable, with a proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage projects from conception to completion.
  • Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships to advance the organization’s goals and community presence.
