About Us

Alaska Advanced Dentistry is a privately owned, full-service dental practice in Anchorage that has been providing dental care for all of Alaska for over 30 years. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive, team-oriented environment. We invest in advanced technology — including cone beam CT imaging and in-office 3D printing — and take pride in a clinical culture that values precision, professionalism, and genuine patient relationships.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled and personable Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team four days a week. This is a full-time role in a well-equipped, privately owned practice where your work is valued and your schedule is respected.

What You'll Do

  • Clinical Assessments: Perform preliminary oral charting, triage, and comprehensive dental hygiene assessments
  • Treatment Planning: Alongside the dentist, formulate patient-specific dental hygiene treatment plans
  • Preventative Care: Remove calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from exposed and subgingival tooth surfaces (comprehensive scaling and debridement)
  • Periodontal Therapy: Perform nonsurgical periodontal therapy (root planing) and administer localized periodontal therapeutic agents into gum pockets when appropriate
  • Anatomical Care: Removal of marginal overhangs on existing restorations
  • Anesthesia Delivery: Administer local anesthetic agents safely and effectively (appropriate Alaska state certification required)
  • Radiographs: Take and review radiographs, including digital X-rays
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on oral hygiene and support long-term care planning
  • Clinical Documentation: Document clinical findings accurately and collaborate with the doctor on patient care
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the doctor and clinical team
  • Recall System Management: Oversee patient recall duties, monitoring intervals to ensure patients return for timely routine care
  • Appointment Booking: Schedule future hygiene appointments and manage patient follow-ups before they leave the chair

What We're Looking For

  • Active Alaska RDH license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Strong clinical skills and a warm, patient-centered approach
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and professional
  • Experience preferred — new grads with strong clinical training welcome

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate to start, transitioning to percentage of collections as your patient base builds
  • CE allowance
  • 401(k)
  • Four-day work week
