As an Acquisition Consultant, you will embark on a journey through various market landscapes, facilitating the discovery and evaluation of promising business opportunities. This fully remote, contract/temporary position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, appealing to those who are deeply interested in entrepreneurship, business acquisition, and market strategies. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of businesses by tapping into uncharted territories and bringing hidden gems to the fore.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on privately held businesses to determine growth potential and acquisition viability.
  • Map out segments and stakeholders within target markets to establish a clear understanding of market dynamics and leaders.
  • Develop and maintain lists of key targets for outreach based on strategic objectives and research findings.
  • Analyze public signals and trends to identify early indicators of market shifts or opportunities.
  • Prepare succinct and insightful summaries of company profiles and market conditions to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with acquisition operators and industry professionals to support due diligence and follow-up activities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging markets, and potential investment opportunities.
  • Provide expert insights and recommendations to enhance acquisition strategies and practices.
  • Support the negotiation processes with potential acquisition targets through preparation and strategic advice.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all research findings and strategic moves unless disclosure is strategically advantageous.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in market research, business analysis, or a similar role focusing on acquisition and business growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on clear, concise reporting.
  • Expertise in using modern research tools and methodologies to uncover and evaluate business opportunities.
  • Solid understanding of the private equity, venture capital, and M&A landscapes.
  • High level of discretion and ethical approach to business practices and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and comfortable with emerging business technologies and platforms.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for discovering potential business opportunities and influencing business growth.
