Job Description: IS4S is a developing Command and Control solutions that are modernizing the US Armed Forces and enabling multi-domain coordination and execution among Joint Forces. IS4S is seeking a Palantir Foundry Engineer in Auburn, AL or Aberdeen, MD to assist integration efforts with Palantir solutions also serving the US Armed Forces. Activities will include the following:

·        Creating algorithms in back-end processors utilizing relational databases to develop associations, conduct analyses

·        Understanding and integrating with Palantir products through Palantir, Government-owned, or third party APIs

·        Interacting with Palantir developers to identify best approaches as well as provide feedback on limitations, documentation gaps, and integration issues

·        Engaging warfighters and SMEs to gather and understand feedback and needs

·        Travel to support integration, demonstration, and user engagement

The challenges facing our nation are constantly evolving. Therefore, we are looking for self-driven, entrepreneurial team members willing and able to constantly learn, adapt, and find ways to develop and integrate solutions. Selected applicants will be expected to gain familiarity with the underlying domain (e.g., EW, Fires, PNT) and its role in the larger system of systems to incorporate warfighter needs throughout the solution. They will be given freedom to solve problems and develop solutions with the expectation of owning their tasks and responsibilities. They will also integrate into an existing team that provides support and to ensure designs and solutions conform to and enhance the end product.

 

Required Abilities, Experience, and Skills:

·        Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, data science, or related technical field (for full-time applicants)

·        Ability to comprehend complex systems and identify interconnections and functions of both internal and external systems/subsystems/services

·        Working experience with the Palantir Ontology SDK (OSK), including data mapping with model objects and IS4S-developed or managed databases, exposing Ontology data to other services and apps, and developing APIs that leverage the Ontology

·        Knowledge of governance and security, including authenticated connections to Palantir products through the OSDK, RBAC, object-level permissions, etc.

·        Experience with programming languages, (e.g., Go, C++), build tools, and IDEs (e.g., JetBrains suite, VSCode)

·        Strong knowledge in SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)

·        Ability to decompose engineering documentation to identify and explain needed tasks

·        Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal direction

·        Must be able to travel to support customer engagements, integration and testing in live environments, occasionally working non-standard hours to match exercise schedules

·        Must be able to lift and carry computing and networking equipment in support of transit and installation

·        Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Active or eligibility for a DoD Security Clearance

·        US Citizenship is required

 

Desired Experience and Skills:

·        Comprehensive understanding of Palantir systems and how they operate (e.g., Maven Smart Systems, AIDP, Foundry, Gotham, Ontology, Apollo, Rubix, etc.)

·        Cloud-compute deployment experience, especially within Apollo/Rubix

·        Familiarity with Army compute systems and compute environments

·        Familiarity with cloud and modern internet file storage formats (Parquet, NetCDF, HDF5, etc.)

·        Experience with Mission Command or C2 systems, especially those dealing with Fires and Electromagnetic Warfare
