PNT Engineering Intern

Position: PNT Engineering Intern

Description:

Assist in the development, testing, and support of software and infrastructure for Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems. The ideal candidate is a motivated engineering student with a strong interest in navigation, sensor processing, or software development. The intern will work with experienced engineers to support tasks such as data processing algorithm development, prototype navigation tools, simulation environments, and analysis procedures used in evaluating PNT system performance.

This position is designed to provide hands-on experience with real-world navigation technologies, engineering workflows, and modern software practices.

Job Role(s):

  • Assist with developing software for embedded or high-performance navigation systems
  • Support validation, testing, and documentation of new or existing codebases
  • Help implement software interfaces for sensors and hardware systems, including timing-critical applications
  • Contribute to development of simulation tools, analysis utilities, and testing infrastructure
  • Participate in engineering discussions, design reviews, and troubleshooting sessions

Required Experience:

  • Coursework or project experience with programming in C++, C, Python, or similar languages
  • Familiarity with engineering concepts related to signal processing, sensors, or embedded systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively, follow technical guidance, and learn new development tools
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

Preferred Experience (Not Required):

  • Exposure to GNSS receivers, inertial sensors, or other navigation technologies
  • Experience from class projects, labs, clubs, or internships involving software development
  • Understanding of Linux, version control (Git), or software testing practices
