Position Mission
As Treatment Coordinator, you will be a key member of the team responsible for the acceptance of treatment of our patients and the future growth possibilities for the company. You will be communicating with patients, educating patients about options and costs, influencing case acceptance, and helping patients with financing. The primary purpose of the Treatment Coordinator position is to maximize provider schedules, greet patients, and ensure all necessary documentation and paperwork is present and up to date allowing patients to have the best experience possible. You’ll be an integral part of our team and will help be a part of providing excellent dental care to our valued patients.
KPIs / Performance Metrics
Patient acceptance (rate of 75% or above)
Collect balances and copays on all patients (95% monthly collection)
Required Qualifications
4+ years experience in a dental field
Knowledge and experience with dental treatment plans and HMO/PPO insurance requirements required
Experience in a customer service
Insurance verification (full PPO breakdown and ability to give accurate insurance estimate)
Must have ability to multitask front office duties including phone, scheduling and insurance verification
Presenting treatment – Must be able to effectively communicate the value and importance of treatment to the patient and make financial arrangements
Other Desirable Qualifications
Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
Experience with practice management software, preferably Dentrix
Must be detailed oriented
Must have math skills
Must be comfortable working on the computer

Educates patients on the risks of not receiving effective treatment.
Assists patients with selecting and accepting financing options that meet their needs with CareCredit and/or MACU.
Secures financial commitment from patients; collects payments and posts charges accurately to patient accounts in accordance with office policies/procedures.
Effectively handles objections and barriers to case acceptance.
Improves specific skills and behaviors that increase case acceptance.
Maintains focus on the patient experience, particularly with new patients, ensuring they have a great patient experience.
Always ensures patients are comfortable, informed, welcomed, and appreciated.
Assist with various administrative activities such as answering phones, patient check in/out, coordinating insurance benefits, scheduling appointments.
Assists with new patient growth goals by working with others in the administration of sales, marketing and various promotions.
Ability to understand, interpret, and analyze common insurance plan coverage for various procedures.
Efficiently work with various clinicians.
Assist with providing smooth patient flow.
Assist with dental/medical emergencies as necessary.
Addresses problems and recommend effective solutions along with the Office Manager at the appropriate time and place.
Crosstrains to assist with other job roles as needed.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communications, and customer service skills.
Schedules patients for appointments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
