Job Description

Cornerstone Dental PLLC is excited to announce a job opening for a dedicated and skilled Expanded Function Dental Assistant. This is a Full-Time position located in our dynamic clinic, which prides itself on delivering exceptional dental care. Given the hands-on nature of the role, this position is not available remotely and requires in-person attendance to effectively engage with our team and patients.

We are looking for an individual who brings a blend of professionalism, capability, and a passion for patient healthcare to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dentists and enhancing patient satisfaction and outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist in all dental procedures and engage in four-handed dentistry.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Collect and record patient health histories (dental and medical) and update patient records as necessary.
  • Perform dental procedure isolation techniques.
  • Operate dental radiography equipment for the purpose of oral diagnostics; develop and mount x-rays.
  • Manage dental emergencies per the dentist’s instructions and clinic protocols.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative instructions prescribed by the dentist.
  • Fabricate temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.
  • Educate patients about appropriate oral hygiene strategies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Support the dentist’s office with managing supplies and inventory effectively.

Requirements

  • Possession of an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification.
  • Valid dental X-ray license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an expanded function dental assistant.
  • Demonstrable skills in dental health maintenance and aseptic management.
  • Ability to handle dental instruments and materials confidently and safely.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, standards, and protocols.
  • Skilled in the use of dental technology including digital radiography and record management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Commitment to the dental profession’s ethical guidelines.
