Die Cleaning Team Member

Fraziers Bottom, WV 25082 • Production • Full-Time

Salary Range:  $14.50 - $14.50 hour

The Die Cleaning Team Member supports daily production operations by performing die cleaning, inspection, and care activities. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, ensuring equipment readiness, and assisting with machine maintenance tasks. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

The Die Cleaning Team Member will be responsible for:

Die Care & Maintenance

  • Performing full care of dies and related equipment, including cleaning, polishing, inspection, and condition monitoring.
  • Ensuring proper handling and safe movement of dies using the overhead crane.

Production & Equipment Support

  • Cleaning molding areas and conducting refill checks as required.
  • Cleaning assigned machine areas to support operational readiness.
  • Assisting with changeovers and die installation activities, including documentation and paperwork.
  • Collecting production‑related quality data and completing required forms.

Troubleshooting & Improvement

  • Identifying operational issues, troubleshooting problems, and recommending corrective or preventive actions.
  • Participating in 5S activities within die‑cleaning and surrounding work areas.
  • Supporting and promoting Kaizen events and continuous improvement efforts.

Safety, Compliance & Environmental Responsibilities

  • Following all compliance, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring safe handling and disposal of chemicals.
  • Recognizing, reporting, and escalating safety concerns related to die handling, cleaning, or production operations.
  • Wearing required PPE and adhering to machine safety and hazard communication procedures.

Other Duties

  • Performing additional production‑related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or Assistant Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Assignment to this role must be made by an Assistant Manager or higher.
  • Prior experience with die cleaning is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with demonstrated proficiency using hand tools (skills assessment may be required).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.

Training & Certification Requirements

  • Must successfully complete a three‑month training period with evaluation.
  • Must adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
