This is a Full-Time position located on-site at our well-established dental clinic, reflecting our commitment to building a consistent and professional front office team who can contribute positively to the patient experience. Please note, this is not a remote job, as your responsibilities will require direct interaction with our patients and dental professionals daily.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for patients arriving at the clinic or contacting us by phone, ensuring a pleasant and professional initial interaction.
  • Schedule patient appointments effectively, optimizing the use of time and resources to maximize clinic workflow and patient satisfaction.
  • Verify dental insurance details for patients, confirming coverage and ensuring all paperwork is in order ahead of appointments.
  • Explain dental treatments to patients with clarity and compassion, ensuring they understand the procedures they will undergo.
  • Accurately explain patient benefits, copays, and potential out-of-pocket costs for treatments planned, aiding in their financial planning and consent.
  • Coordinate with dental staff to prepare for upcoming procedures, ensuring all necessary information and materials are ready for use.
  • Manage patient records with confidentiality and accuracy, updating any changes in patient information and treatment plans as needed.
  • Assist in resolving any patient grievances related to scheduling, billing, or the treatment process in a manner that maintains patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with various dental office departments to discuss, plan, and implement strategies to improve patient care and office efficiency.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development sessions to stay updated on the latest dental practices and office management techniques.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the dental field, with a solid understanding of dental office procedures and patient care.
  • Some college education is required; additional certification in dental office administration is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and dental office staff.
  • Proficiency in using dental practice management software
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in all patient communication and documentation.
  • Empathy and understanding in handling patient questions and concerns, providing thoughtful and professional responses.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex dental insurance plans and benefits to patients, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Capability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and care in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Proven track record of maintaining professionalism and a positive demeanor in stressful situations.
