Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide non-medical companionship and basic care to clients under the supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients by ensuring that sanitary practices are adhered to and safety precautions are followed.
- Monitor client’s conditions by observing physical and mental condition.
- Support clients by providing housekeeping and laundry services; shopping for food and other household requirements; preparing and serving meals and snacks; running errands.
- Assist clients by providing personal services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Help family members care for the client by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and re-position the client; advising on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
- Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
- Protects organization's value by keeping client information confidential.
Requirements
- Valid CNA Certification from an accredited nursing assistant training program.
- Proof of a negative TB Skin Test within the past 6 months or a valid Chest X-ray.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from a recognized provider.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to follow designated care plans.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong observational skills and ability to make accurate documentation.
- Physical ability to perform job-related duties, which may require lifting, bending, stretching, and more without assistance.
